Welcome to Tepee
TEPEE – LATEST NEWS - 17th JULY 2011
I have heard from a number of sources that rumour has it that TEPEE is no more. Let me reassure you that this is not the case. TEPEE is here and as an organisation we are passionate about our work of promoting the value and importance of play and see this time of cuts and reduction in services as a critical point to maintain play for our children and young people.
Whilst there are no paid members of staff, there are a strong group of play orientated people on the committee who are working hard behind the scenes. Over the last couple of months we have been meeting on a regular basis (sometimes twice monthly). Although there is a long way to go we are slowly but surely moving forward and embracing this time of change. For instance we have re-visited the aims and vision of TEPEE, delivered a number of play projects and are working in partnership with the Teignbridge Children’s Centres (managed by Action for Children) to celebrate National Play Day on Wednesday 3rd August 2011.
It has been said that ‘life without play is serious stuff’ (Brown 2002). So long as TEPEE is around, the child’s right to play will always be defended!

TEPEE exists to support community led children's play activities, particularly in rural areas.
TEPEE offers help and support though an enabling community development approach which aims to stimulate interest and involvement in play and is followed up with training and support.
TEPEE co-ordinates play opportunities, and provides advice, including access to funding - to enable groups to grow and expand, improve their quality and provide affordable play provisions throughout the Teignbridge area.
