Leadership and

Management Programme

for Playworkers

Want to develop your leadership

and management skills in a playwork context?

NEW COURSE DATES FOR SPRING 2010!

This NEW (and free!) programme is now available in the South West. It is funded by CWDC and is part of the goverment’s plan to professionalise the Playwork workforce.

The Programme is designed to enable you to

bulletenhance leadership and management skills for Playwork professionals
bulletdevelop skills in advocating play to the wider workforce
bulletimprove the provision of play services for children

It is aimed at

bulletmiddle managers in local authorities
bulletplay champions and play rangers
bulletleaders in play pathfinder and play builder local authorities
bulletplay service managers and lead practitioners

The course will run on 19/20 Jan, 20/21 April and 25/26 May. You will be expected to attend all the above taught sessions alongside on-line communication and work based activity.

This course has been developed in conjunction with Children’s Workforce Development Council (CWDC) and SkillsActive, the national agency for Playwork.

 

 

FREE Enamel Workshops, Bristol: 19/20 January 2010

The Devon Guild of Craftsmen and the Centre for Enamel Research (University of the West of England) are offering FREE places on two enamel workshops.

 

1. For Arts Professionals: Tuesday 19 January 2010 –- curators, writers, advisers, teachers, etc.

2. For Practitioners: Wednesday 20 January 2010 –- full or part time contemporary craft makers

Both 9.00am – 5.00pm, led by Elizabeth Turrell at The Enamel Research Centre, Bower Ashton Campus, Bristol, BS3 2JT

 

10 free places on each workshop (usual price £120) covering contemporary techniques, production, presentation and networking ‘sand-pit’ session, are available for applicants (Arts professionals OR Contemporary craft makers) based in the South West Region (Devon, Dorset, Cornwall, Gloucestershire, Somerset & Wiltshire) with NO previous knowledge of enamel.
