Monday 24th January Denbury Pre-school Storytelling & music workshop with Clive Pig
TEPEE (Teignbridge Play Network) were asked by Denbury Pre-school to run a workshop at one of their morning sessions.
3 staff and 12 children took part. The children were engrossed in Clive’s stories from around the world and enjoyed acting out the characters, adding their own ideas and joining in creating the musical accompaniment from his fantastic collection of percussion instruments.
The staff told me how impressed they were at Clive’s ability to keep the young children engaged for the whole of the 2 hour workshop.

Buckland and Milber Community Centre Tuesday 15th February Scrappy Workshop Invited by Anthony Golden who is the new development worker for Buckland and Milber. He is setting up activities for children during the holidays and we went to support the group on their fist day. They had ten children aged between 6 and 12. The scrap workshop sparked off lots of ideas and ended up making two giant forts out of cardboard boxes. We left them at the end of the session inventing games to play with the forts. Throwing tissue paper cannon balls from one to the other. The children who are often unfocused became intently absorbed in creating things and the playworkers commented on the quietness of the group. Childrens comments: I likes getting messy Decorating the castle I like when I made a dress, its butifull Playleaders comments; Good to have your support on our first morning and for you to set a standard for the children.
FREEWHEELING Summer 2005 - Free events for children all over Teignbridge!SUMMER WITH TEPEE
As usual our Summer has been very busy. We have been out everyday of the summer holidays visiting villages and holiday clubs with our Freewheeling workshops. This year we even hired our own van. Adele and I were joined by Liam to form our Freewheeling team, plus Liz and Steve from Jingle Mingle Jam for our music workshops. The other workshops we led ourselves were art and craft, games and tipi and den building. We visited St.Michaels holiday club in Kingsteignton, Blackpool holiday club in Liverton, Smileys Family Workshop in Dawlish and Moretonhampstead holiday club. If you would like a visit during any school holiday let us know. Tepee has been asked by zero14plus to take our Freewheeling sessions to North and East Devon to encourage people to run similar projects in these areas, so we will be doing that this Autumn. |
