Summer Playscheme funding

Woodward Charitable Trust - Children's Summer Play schemes.
Children's summer play scheme grants £500-£1,000 (usually about 30-40 grants made each year on a one-off basis). Applications for these are made separately and considered in May each year. Hilden Summer 2010 Playschemes
Grants for the Summer 2010 Playschemes will be available from early 2010.
The Hilden Charitable Fund has allocated a small budget to help community groups run Summer Playschemes for the benefit of children from refugee and ethnic minority families. The amount you can apply for is around £1,000.

You can download a copy of the Summer Playschemes Application Form as a PDF Document which you can then complete and mail to us. Once complete, please send your application form and all supporting documentation to:

The Skinners’ Company Lady Neville Charity aims to provide grants that will make a clear and significant contribution to grassroots charitable organisations working in designated priority areas. Grants of up to £1,000 are available. The priority areas are disability, local heritage, local community and performing and visual arts. Computers for Rural People

The Arthur Rank Centre is committed to supporting the rural community, and has set up the “Computers for Rural People” scheme to provide computers at very low cost.
The Foundation can provide a computer, pre-loaded with Microsoft software, and delivered to your door with 3 months warranty. A fully functioning computer costs as little as £109.
For Community Projects if more than one computer is needed; Eg. for a Drop-in centre, School etc. the prices are even lower!

BT Community Connections Scheme

BT is running a scheme to enable community and charitable organisations to get online.  Groups can apply for a free laptop and a year’s free broadband connection and award packages will be given to groups who can demonstrate how an award will benefit their work and the local community.

Next deadline for applications is 5th January 2010.

 

The Secret Millionaire Fund
Charities and community organisations can apply for grants of between £300 and £10,000 from the Secret Millionaire Fund, named after the Channel 4 series.

Grants are available to support stronger communities. The programme will be open to applications between 10 May and 21December 2009. Applications may be made at any time.

Applicants may apply at least three months before their project starts and must complete the project within one year.
Details
The Big Lottery Fund, in partnership with Channel 4, operates The Secret Millionaire Fund.
Applicants can either apply directly themselves or be nominated by a third party.
Successful applicants may be selected for filming by Channel 4 and appear on the Secret Millionaire Fund website or on the TV programme.

Applicant projects must result in:

bulletPeople having better chances in life, with better access to training and development to improve their life skills.
bulletStronger communities with more active citizens, working together to tackle their problems.
bulletImproved rural and urban environments, which communities are better able to enjoy.
bulletHealthier and more active people and communities.

Trusthouse Charitable Foundation

Trusthouse currently awards around 350 grants a year totalling circa £2 million. The average grant is £6,000 though they can range from £1,000 to £30,000. There are now two overarching themes to the Foundation’s grants programme:

• Rural issues
• Urban deprivation

The Tudor Trust

One of the largest independent grant making trusts in the UK has announced new funding guidelines for the period 2009 – 11. Under the new guidelines, the Trust will continue to make grants across their established funding areas. These are; youth, older people, community, relationships, housing, mental health, substance misuse, learning, financial security and criminal justice. The Trust will also be open to hearing about work in areas the Trust has not funded before. The Trust makes grants in the region of £19 million per year and aims to support smaller community, voluntary and charitable organisations and is looking to make around 350 projects per year for up to three years. Grants can take the form of core funding (including salaries and running costs), development funding, project grants or capital grants for buildings or equipment. There is no maximum or minimum grant amount that an organisation can apply for. Applications can be submitted at any time.
